Ultrasonic bio-diesel production
The major drawback of conventional method for producing biodiesel is slow reaction process. Use of RTUL ultrasonic technology for bio-diesel production renders several advantages over the conventional trans-esterification process.
The conventional esterification reaction is time consuming and even the separation of glycerine takes time. Whereas in ultrasonic reactors, the ultrasonic waves cause the reaction mixture to produce and collapse bubbles constantly. This cavitation effect provides the heating and mixing required to carry out the transesterification process. It operates in conjunction with agitator and could be incorporated in existing bio-reactors without any specific requirement. It can be employed in a batch reactor or a continuous reactor. Thus ultrasonic reactors helps in reducing the reaction time.
RTUL Technology is superior and unmatched with any other suppliers in the world, in terms of technology, shortest possible process time, quality of final product, quality of total stepand efficient control aspects.
- Shorter process time (15-45) minutes, when compared to 4-8 hours of conventional mixing process.
- Phase seperation time is also less (30-120 min), when compared to 8-12 hours of conventional gravity settling.
- Less catalyst & methanol consumption.
- Easy scale-up.
- Acoustic cavitation enhances the surface chemistry and micro-mixing and eventually results in high purity (B 99.99) and higher yield of Bio-diesel (up to 99%).
